What's in the gummy?
Labs keep finding things in smoke-shop mushroom and amanita gummies that aren't on the label. We put every published result in one place, product by product, with the source for each.

Warnings and recalls
TRE House
California's health department warned people not to eat TRE House 'Magic Mushroom' gummies, chocolate bars and syrup after its lab found the synthetic psychedelic 4-AcO-DET in every product it listed, and 4-AcO-DMT in most.
Diamond Shruumz
Every Diamond Shruumz product was recalled in 2024 after a national poisoning outbreak: 180 cases in 34 states, 73 hospitalisations and 2 deaths in CDC's count. Independent testing found psilocin in two of its gummies that did not list it.

Decode the label
What the ingredients on the package mean, and the ones labs found that weren't on it.
Psilocybin / psilocin
What psilocybin and psilocin are, why psilocin without psilocybin in a gummy is a warning sign, and what tests of retail gummies have found.
Amanita muscaria / muscimol
What muscimol and Amanita muscaria are, what FDA has said about them in food, and why Amanita-labelled gummies often turn out to contain something else.
Synthetic tryptamines
Lab-made psychedelics related to psilocin keep turning up in 'mushroom' gummies. Which ones have been found, where, and what is known about them.
Kava (kavalactones)
Kava is sold openly in gummies, and has also turned up undisclosed in 'mushroom' gummies. What trials found about anxiety, and the liver question.
Kratom / mitragynine / 7-OH
Kratom's best-known alkaloid has been found undisclosed in a 'mushroom' gummy. Why concentrated 7-OH products are different from kratom leaf.
THC / cannabinoids
Undisclosed THC has turned up in 'nootropic' mushroom gummies. Poison-centre data on THC edibles, especially for young children.
Proprietary / nootropic mushroom blend
Lion's mane and reishi aren't psychoactive. But 'nootropic blend' labels have been on gummies that contained psilocin, THC and synthetic tryptamines.

What's actually in mushroom gummies?
Lab tests of smoke-shop mushroom gummies keep finding ingredients that aren't on the label. Here is what each published test found, and what it can't tell you.
How to check a gummy before you take it
A home reagent test can flag some compounds in a gummy, but not what it is or how much. Here's what Ehrlich reagent shows, what it misses, and what else to check.
Do mushroom gummies show up on a drug test?
Standard workplace panels don't look for psilocin or muscimol. But tested gummies have contained THC, kratom alkaloids and stimulants, and some panels do look for THC.
Are mushroom gummies legal?
Psilocybin is federally controlled, Amanita muscaria isn't, and FDA says Amanita has no place in food. Here's what US federal agencies have said, with dates.
